As we have reliably done for more than 30 years, Waveny stands ready, willing and able to respond to the heath-related concerns of our community.  Presently, we seek the direction of the Town of New Canaan and our local community so that we may continue to deliver upon their wishes and preferences to the best of our ability.

Since its inception, the principle that New Canaan can instinctively take care of its own better than any institutionalized healthcare system can has served as the cornerstone of Waveny’s commitment to the community. The conviction that our elders be treated with respect, dignity and maintained at the heart of the community is at the core of our history, development and strategic planning for the future.

Despite the challenges we have inevitably encountered throughout our gradual expansion from a skilled nursing facility into a network of residences, programs and services, this tenet has continually driven us to develop essential resources designed to meet the healthcare needs of our community and enhance the well-being of older adults.

Most recently, our organization has striven to address the most pressing identified senior needs in our community through the development of a CCRC. Recognizing the recurrent need and desire for continuing care within New Canaan, we have evaluated and assessed the viability of a number of properties over the past five years. All of our pursuits and research point to the conclusion that the best and only location for a successful CCRC project is the undeveloped Waveny property on Lapham Road.
